LayerTry Legal & Security
Billing Terms & Conditions
1. Billing Scope
LayerTry plans are billed through Shopify's app billing system. By approving a plan, you authorise Shopify to charge your store according to the approved plan price, billing interval, and renewal terms shown at checkout and inside the app.
2. Billing Cycle and Renewal
Unless otherwise stated on the plan page, LayerTry plans use a 30-day recurring billing cycle managed by Shopify. Your billing period starts on the date your subscription is approved and renews automatically every 30 days. Try-on allowances reset on each renewal — one allowance grant per charge — and do not align with calendar month boundaries. Charges appear on your Shopify invoice as app charges.
3. Cancellation
You may cancel your plan from the Plans page at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period unless Shopify states otherwise. After cancellation, your subscription moves into a cancelling state until the current billing period ends. During that time, you keep access to the paid features already covered by your active cycle.
While in a cancelling state, you may switch to a different plan before the period ends. Doing so creates a new Shopify charge and starts a new billing cycle on the new plan, and forfeits any unused days remaining on the cancelling subscription. The Plans page shows a confirmation prompt explaining this trade-off before the change is submitted.
You cannot re-subscribe to the same plan while it is in a cancelling state — the re-subscribe action is hidden in the Plans page to prevent overlapping charges. If you wish to remain on the same plan, allow the cancelling state to expire naturally and subscribe again after the period ends.
4. No Partial Refunds
Unless required by law or expressly stated by Shopify, LayerTry does not provide partial refunds, prorated refunds, or credits for unused time, unused try-ons, unused plan capacity, temporary pauses, or merchant error after a plan is approved.
5. Upgrades and Downgrades — Plan Changes
You may switch between plans from the Plans page at any time during an active cycle. When you switch plans, Shopify replaces your active subscription with a new one. Depending on Shopify's billing rules this replacement may apply immediately (with prorated billing credit for any unused time on the previous plan) or be scheduled at the end of the current paid period.
In either case, LayerTry preserves any unused try-on allowance from the previous plan as carry-over try-ons on the new plan. The carry-over remains valid until the end of the previous plan's original billing period — after that date, only the new plan's monthly allowance applies. Multiple consecutive plan changes may stack carry-over entries, each with its own expiry date. Carry-over try-ons are consumed before the current plan's monthly allowance, oldest expiry first (FIFO).
For example, if you switch from a higher plan to a lower one mid-cycle, your unused try-ons from the higher plan stay available on the lower plan until your original period ends. Any unused billing time on the higher plan is converted by Shopify into prorated credit and applied to the new plan's charges. We recommend using any remaining try-ons before the original period ends, since carry-over does not roll forward indefinitely.
6. Switching During a Cancelling State
If you have already cancelled your subscription and it is in a cancelling state, switching to a different plan creates a new Shopify charge immediately and forfeits the remaining days of the previous plan that you have not yet used. To avoid this, wait until the cancelling state expires naturally and then subscribe to the new plan. The Plans page surfaces a confirmation prompt when this scenario applies.
7. Included Try-ons and Usage Counting
Each plan includes a stated try-on allowance per 30-day billing period. The counter resets on each Shopify renewal — one allowance grant per charge — and does not align with calendar month boundaries. A try-on counts against your plan allowance only when a result image is successfully generated. Shopper submissions that are rejected before generation because the uploaded photo is unsuitable do not consume a completed try-on allowance, although LayerTry may still perform AI analysis to determine suitability. Separate rate limits, filters, or abuse controls may still apply at the storefront level.
8. Usage Exhaustion
If your included plan usage is exhausted before the billing period renews, LayerTry may temporarily stop accepting new completed try-ons until the next renewal, until you upgrade, or until another access path is explicitly provided by the app. This can make the storefront widget unavailable to shoppers until fresh capacity becomes available.
9. Payment Processing
All payments are processed by Shopify. LayerTry does not store your payment card data or banking credentials. Billing approval, billing method validation, taxes, and final charge collection are handled through Shopify's billing system and related merchant terms.
10. Taxes and Local Charges
Plan prices may be subject to tax, VAT, GST, or similar charges depending on your jurisdiction and Shopify billing rules. You are responsible for any taxes, duties, levies, or similar charges associated with your subscription unless applicable law requires otherwise.
11. Price and Plan Changes
LayerTry may update plan pricing, feature sets, usage allowances, or packaging over time. Where required, notice will be provided before changes take effect. Continued use of the service after the effective date of an updated plan or price constitutes acceptance of the revised billing terms.
Repeated plan changes in rapid succession may affect Shopify's prorated billing credit calculations on the merchant side, since each replacement charge resets billing accounting. We recommend allowing your current plan to settle before switching again for cleanest billing transitions.
12. Uninstall, Retention, and Deletion
If you uninstall LayerTry, store data is retained for a short recovery window to support accidental reinstalls and operational integrity. After Shopify's standard 48-hour uninstall window, all data tied to your shop is permanently deleted from LayerTry. If you reinstall within that window, previous store data may still be restored.
LayerTry also handles shopper-level data requests and deletions in line with Shopify's GDPR compliance flow. See the Terms & Conditions, section 7, for the full data handling overview.
13. Billing Disputes
If you believe a charge was made in error, contact us promptly with your shop domain, charge date, and billing details. We will review the issue in good faith, but final charge mechanics may still depend on Shopify billing records and platform policies.
